After a grueling Concacaf Champions Cup match earlier in the week, Orlando City returns to MLS play with a home matchup against Western Conference foe Minnesota United FC on Saturday.

The Lions (0-1-1, 1 point) are seeking their first win of the season. They had a scoreless draw against Tigres UANL on Tuesday that leaves Orlando with tired legs against Minnesota (1-0-1, 4 points).

The second leg of the tournament vs. Tigres is Tuesday in Mexico.

“We feel busy but good. A way to just get the season and the international tournaments going now that we know about the proximity of the game,” said Orlando coach Oscar Pareja. “So we get our mentalities there and then just getting ready for one game at a time.”

Orlando’s forwards have struggled for form but face a Minnesota defense that has not kept a clean sheet in 11 matches dating to August. Facundo Torres picked up a knock against Tigres, so this would be a great opportunity to see Martin Ojeda or Shak Mohammed take over while he recovers for the trip to Mexico.

Minnesota coach Eric Ramsay left Manchester United to take over the team but interning coach Cameron Knowles has helped the young Loons get off to a hot start. Knowles will continue in his capacity until Ramsay’s work visa is approved, but it’s clear the squad will pose a threat to the Lions.

“I have seen a team with a lot of energy, a team with new ideas and new coach. It is normal that at this stage they probably are just trying to get things together,” Pareja said. “But they have very good players and we respect them a lot.”

Jack Lynn (right lower leg) and Torres (right upper extremity) are questionable for Orlando City.
