Major League Soccer’s (MLS) Orlando City and the National Women’s Soccer League’s (NWSL) Orlando Pride have unveiled Inter&Co as the new naming rights partner for their stadium.

Contract:

  • Long-term agreement sees teams’ home renamed Inter&Co Stadium
  • Deal designates financial and digital commerce services provider as club’s first international partner
  • Trio plan to position venue as a world-class sports and entertainment destination hosting top soccer matches, as well as cultural and music events
  • Club and Inter&Co to introduce new grassroots initiatives

Context:

Orlando City and Orlando Pride’s home was previously known as Exploria Stadium in deal valued at more than US$2 million per year that was signed in June 2019. Though Exploria Resorts no longer has naming rights to the stadium, the company will continue as the exclusive, official vacation club of Orlando City and Orlando Pride.

The pact with Inter&Co, which is headquartered in Brazil, sees it become the first financial institution with Latin-American roots to own the naming rights of a major stadium in the US. The company became the official financial institution of the MLS and NWSL teams last September.

Comment:

“It’s only fitting that as we enter our tenth season in MLS here in Orlando and ninth in the NWSL, that we would partner for the next decade with a global company, not only committed to our community, but with a shared vision for the future,” said Orlando City and Orlando Pride chairman Mark Wilf.

“We are truly excited about what we will build together, enhancing the fan experience in the venue and further connecting our soccer cultures in meaningful ways.”

Coming next:

Inter&Co Stadium has begun an enhancement project that will bring more technology to the venue. Upgrades include five million new LED pixels, a new state-of-the-art video board and more than 200 new TV monitors throughout the suites, premium spaces, concession stands and lower-level concourse.

The stadium will officially re-open to the public on 27th January when Orlando City host a preseason FC Series friendly against Brazilian giants Flamengo. The 2024 MLS home opener is slated for 24th February when Orlando City host CF Montreal, with the Pride season set to kick off in March 2024.
