Arnold Schwarzenegger is the legendary action star of the ‘80s and ‘90s, known for his films such as Conan the Barbarian, The Terminator, Commando, Total Recall, and more. The actor was the bonafide action star of the era and is still remembered for his iconic lines that have become an irreplaceable part of pop culture history.

Schwarzenegger has had many memorable lines and moments on film in his fifty-year career. Recently, a meme video, which taught the alphabet using popular phrases and noises that Arnold Schwarzenegger is known for went viral. Though the video made fun of his legacy, Schwarzenegger took it in stride and even shared it on his own X profile.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has done it all in his fifty-year career as an actor, bodybuilder, businessman, and politician. The Austrian-American actor began bodybuilding at the age of 15 and wanted to pursue a football career.  He hung out with popular bodybuilders such as Reg Park and Steve Reeves and began to seriously pursue a bodybuilding career.

He won his first Mr. Olympia title at the age of 23 in 1970 and held the record for being the youngest recipient of the title. He won the title five more times consecutively and then announced his retirement from the competition to pursue an acting career. He became the subject of the documentary Pumping Iron, which centered around his 1975 Mr. Olympia competition.

Schwarzenegger had his breakthrough in the epic film Conan the Barbarian. He went on to appear in its sequel Conan the Destroyer and achieved global stardom for the role. He would go on to play leading roles in legendary action films such as James Cameron’s The Terminator, Predator, Commando, and more. He had a public rivalry with fellow action star Sylvester Stallone.

At the peak of his stardom in the ‘80s and the ‘90s, Schwarzenegger tried a variety of roles, focusing mainly on his action and comedy persona. His comedy films include Twins, Last Action Hero, True Lies, and Jingle All The Way. His brand of action film waned in the late ‘90s with the emergence of films like The Matrix. However, he is still regarded as one of the finest action stars of all time.

The actor was known for his action-hero persona and his unique Austrian-American accent which made him a brand. He has been parodied numerous times on popular media, with many impressionists whipping out Schwarzenegger’s impressions at a moment’s notice.

Recently, a meme video that explored the alphabet with popular movie lines by Arnold Schwarzenegger as examples went viral. The video included many references to his films of the ‘80s, that had iconic lines. Lines such as ‘Hasta La Vista Baby’, ‘Come with me if you want to live,’ and ‘I’ll be back’ from The Terminator franchise, as well as the infamous handshake with the line ‘Dillon, you son of a b*tch’, and ‘Get to the chopper’ from Predator made the cut.

The video included many of the cheesy lines that were a staple of ‘80s action films while also including many of Schwarzenegger’s ‘moments of acting’. The meme went so viral that the Batman & Robin star himself shared it on his X profile. He expressed his approval with the caption, “This should be taught in every school. Happy New Year everybody!”
